A persistent, excruciating ailment known as pilonidal sinus disease (PNS) affects the skin between the buttocks, close to the tailbone. It is often brought on by the development of an abscess or cyst in that location, which, if left untreated, can grow infectious and pose issues for the patient. Young individuals are most susceptible to PNS, particularly those who are overweight, wear restrictive clothing, or don't practise good hygiene. Pilonidal sinus illness is typically brought on by a number of different circumstances. Ingrown hairs, loose hairs, or excessive perspiration in the area are possible causes.
