Pilonidal sinus is a painful condition that affects the skin and tissue of the buttocks. It is most common in young adults, particularly those with deep creases in their skin. The condition is caused when hair follicles become blocked, leading to an accumulation of pus and bacteria. It often starts as a small cyst or bump, which can become painful and infected over time.

Treatment of Pilonidal sinus

The treatment of Pilonidal sinus is a complex process that involves surgical removal of the cyst and the underlying sinus. The goal of treatment is to reduce the amount of infection and achieve a lasting cure. Sometimes, the primary procedure is not enough and further interventions may be necessary.
