Mastermind behind Healing Hands Clinic and spearheading its team is our Founder surgeon, Dr Ashwin Porwal. A visionary, Dr Porwal has been instrumental in the growth of the clinic from a small out-patient set up in Pune city, to India's leading chain of specialty Proctology clinics. Dr Porwal has been a pioneer in this field and has ushered in novel treatments for anorectal diseases. He has devised new laser-based techniques for treating anorectal conditions, most noteworthy being DLPL for Complex & Recurrent Fistula. His expertise has not only drawn people from across India to Healing Hands, but international patients suffering for years from Complex Fistula have also found hope with his ingenious technique. Dr Porwal’s vision wasn’t limited to surgical treatments. He fostered R&D of patented plant-based medicines for treating anorectal conditions.

Dr. Ashwin Porwal's Grade-Wise Holistic Treatment Approach for Piles

Dr Porwal believes in treating Hemorrhoids based on grading and severity, moving seamlessly from conservative care to advanced surgical precision as the disease progresses.This led to conception of his model of gradewise approach for treating Piles. Beginning with plant-based medicines and dietary fixes for grade I, the treatment changes to Laser Hemorrhoidopexy for late stage II and stage III, and ends with Stapler Surgery (MIPH) for advanced grade IV.

The approach is supported by research and it avoids subjective differences in treatments recommended by doctors. Of course, the Proctologist handling the respective case has the final say, but the model serves as a strong guideline in cases that feel ambiguous. This makes treatment at any Healing Hands Clinic scientific and standardised, leaving little chance for error.
