About This Publication
This open-label, prospective clinical study was one of the first controlled evaluations of Constac — a novel Ayurvedic herbal laxative granule formulation developed at Healing Hands Clinic — in patients diagnosed with chronic functional constipation.
Patients were enrolled based on Rome III criteria for chronic constipation and evaluated for baseline bowel habit parameters including stool frequency per week, Bristol Stool Scale score, degree of straining, sense of incomplete evacuation, and overall bowel satisfaction score.
After a defined treatment course with Constac granules, the study documented statistically significant improvements across all measured parameters. Stool frequency increased meaningfully, stool consistency normalised towards softer and more formed stools, straining episodes reduced, and overall patient satisfaction with bowel function improved substantially.
No significant adverse drug reactions were reported, and all safety parameters remained within normal ranges — establishing Constac as an efficacious and safe first-line Ayurvedic option for chronic constipation management.
