Piles Aka Hemorrhoids, Bawasir, Mulvyadh are swollen and enlarged veins in the rectum and the anal canal containing enlarged blood vessels in and around the rectum and the anus which is a result of an increased pressure in the anus making the veins wider and engorged with more blood than usual resulting in overlying tissue and swelling causing piles.
Piles if left untreated may cause further complication with its growth. There are 4 grades of piles. The first 2 stages can be treated using medications with doctors advice. The later 2 stages would need procedures done to treat it. If left untreated it may cause Fistula, weakness, weight loss, severe constipation etc.

Piles are caused when there is an increase in the pressure on blood vessels in and around the anal region. The leading cause of piles and haemorrhoids is chronic constipation. Other reasons include sitting for a long period of time, obesity and weight-related, pregnancy and lifting heavy weights.
If your operation is planned as a day care procedure you can go home as soon as the effect of the anaesthetic has worn off, you have passed urine and you are comfortable, eating and drinking. Since a general anaesthetic is used, it is advisable that a responsible adult take you home and stay with you for 24 hours. Before you are discharged you will be advised about post-operative care, painkillers and laxatives.
You can return to normal physical and sexual activities when you feel comfortable. Anal sex should be avoided. You can return to work usually by the 5th day after the surgery, although this also depends on the type of work you do.
