Circumcision is the surgical removal of the skin covering the tip of the penis. Yes, it is true that many people practice circumcision as a religious factor like in muslims but many are advised by doctor also to perform circumcision when an surgeon feels an treatment is required such as when the foreskin is too tight to be pulled back ( retracted ) over the glans. In parts of Africa circumcision is recommended for older boys or men to reduce the risk of certain sexually transmitted infections. Circumcision is also performed to reduce Urinary Tract Infection ( UTI ) problems. Dr. Ashwin Porwal adds to his talk that people consider that a person who performs circumcision is considered as less active & not active for sex life. This statement false says Dr. Porwal as circumcision involves removal of extra skin from tip of the penis whereas keeping rest things intact.

Many a time people perform circumcision without an expert advice which might include risk factors. Risk factor includes bleeding and infection. Generally after circumcision you might see redness near tip of the penis, or soreness as well near the penis tip, but there is nothing to worry as healing takes atleast 10 days. One might have slight pain as well while urinating for 10 days which is normal. Nevertheless, you must consult a doctor immediately if you notice that bleeding & pain is persistent even after 2 weeks or you have foul smelling drainage from tip of the penis or normal urination does not take place even after 12 hours of circumcision procedure.
